Chondrial Therapeutics is currently recruiting for a Senior Research Scientist. Chondrial Therapeutics is an emerging clinical stage biotechnology company focused on the treatment of rare mitochondrial diseases.

As Chondrials lead program, intended to treat patients with Friedreich Ataxia, a devastating mitochondrial disease, progresses into clinical development, the successful applicant will be expected to contribute expertise to further the company translational research effort in this program and to assume a leading lead role in the generation and progression of additional programs.

The position requires a demonstrated working knowledge in both Biochemistry and Cell and Molecular Biology techniques as they apply to assay development and mechanistic studies.

The ability to implement rigorous experiments aiming at the optimization and validation of novel bioassays will be a central part of this position.

The ability to study biological systems in animal models and to initiate translational studies will be an essential asset for the successful applicant

Experience with protein-based assays like Elisa, enzymatic assay as well as molecular characterization techniques is highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent track record of scientific accomplishments, and impeccable references. Candidate can foresee working in a highly motivating, fast-paced, collaborative and challenging research environment in which delivering a therapeutic solution to patients is the primary focus.


Key Skills and Expertise:

Demonstrated expertise in hands-on cellular and molecular techniques including mammalian cell culture, enzymatic and metabolic research techniques.

  • Experience in assaying the vitro pharmacology of small molecules and biologics is a plus

  • Ph.D. with 2-5 years industry experience or MSC with 5-10 and managerial experience
  • Managing early stage discovery program with emphasis on target validation, assay development
  • Expertise in biologics and small molecules
  • Expertise in neuro-degeneration, mitochondrial diseases, a big plus.
