SUMMARY

The Document Control Engineer is responsible for maintaining the flow of construction drawing documentation throughout the construction process.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible to process all submittals and input
  • Responsible to maintain and update a current set of Contract Drawings and Specifications
  • Manage project logs (RFI- Correspondence)
  • Maintain updated submittal log, monitor the submittal schedule and status
  • Receive, log, and track plans and specifications as received including all revisions
  • Distribute plans and specification to contractor personnel as well as subcontractors
  • Maintain all hard copy files of project documentation
  • Maintain electronic copy files of project documentation
  • Process and maintain files for change order requests, change orders, contracts, scope changes, and payment applications in an orderly and updated manner
  • Process and maintain transmittals and associated documents
  • Track and file project photos.
  • Work with superintendents, engineers, and administration as required
  • Other miscellaneous duties to support engineering department
  • Support Construction Manager, Superintendents, and Construction Engineers in regards to submittals, RFI s, drawings, specifications, and other project documents
  • Performs other related duties as required and assigned

QUALIFCATIONS

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Some college education preferred
  • Bachelor s Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering is a plus
  • 5+ years of construction experience in document control
  • Familiarity with Design-Build projects
  • Proven knowledge of construction documents including handling submittals
  • Knowledge of the construction process, proven ability in planning, organizing, and implementing work priorities to ensure the orderly flow of construction documentation throughout the construction process
  • Possess strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of communicating directly with engineers and administrative staff
  • Proven to be a self-motivated thinker when assigned long term tasks
  • Proven proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Proficiency in other construction industry standard software packages is a strong plus
  • Experience and proficiency in Primavera Expedition software is preferred
  • Ability to get along with engineers and superintendent needed
  • Strength in working with details required
